The Votes Are In!

The poll has closed and the votes are in.

The movie with the most votes was:

Somewhere In Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour

Then there was a three-way tie. I called my hubby to see how he felt about watching four movies instead of three. His reply: "I'm 33.33% more put out than I was before. Sure. Why not?" Not very enthusiastic, but it works for me.

The other three movies are:

Ever After with Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott

Miss Potter with Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor

While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman

I'm not certain what date the results will be in - but my goal is that one week from today, John will have watched all the movies and have made his choice. Let the Chick Flick Fest begin!

P.S. - Just out of curiosity, what chick flick do you think will win? Post your thoughts in the comments section.

Bre said...: I'm shocked that Miss Potter was so popular! That movie was so depressing! Very Very tough call with the others. I love the other 3 (so much, in fact, that i own them!) She finds love, endures heartache, but rises above it to live a fulfilling life, and make a wonderful contribution to society, not only by her books, but also by her life.
Then again, as a 30 year old single woman, I personally love to know life can still be lived happily when it doesn't turn out as you or the culture you come from think it should.

themeese2 said...: I've only seen the ending of Somewhere in Time, and it struck me as kind of weird. I've never had much of a desire to see the rest of it, although the music is lovely. I've also never seen Miss Potter, but it sounds fairly deep. I'm thinking that will appeal to John. I'm very interested in reading his reviews on all the shows! He just may be pleasantly surprised that some "chick flicks" are darned good movies!

I've become too critical of morality now...sigh. We LOVE Everafter...so that would be good. Miss Potter is another sad ending, but a lovely story. We totally watch While You WEre Sleeping...my hubby even likes that one alot. But we also own Ever After (love it) and my dh has always been a fan of Somewhere in Time--mainly because he likes Jane Seymour. It is sad, but she rises above it all and never gives up her dreams- no matter what. Its a beautiful romance and inspiration. im so excited it was among the chosen films.
