A Summer Surprise . . .

Just before school got out in May, we got the older kids (and Mom) a little surprise . . .

Anna thought Rob's bike looked like lots of fun . . .

But then, Anna was a bit upset that Rob's bike didn't belong to her . . .

Would you like to comment?

Bikes!!!! so much fun. Now I really want my own bike. I can't believe how old the kids are getting. Anna especially. Looks like you guys have some great summer fun ahead for you.

Hey Amy - Yep, the bikes have been lots of fun, not to mention great exercise for me - especially when I have the trailer hooked up to my bike & Rob and Anna are sitting inside. Holy cow, is that ever heavy! But the best benefit is how easily the kids conk out at bedtime after an afternoon of bike riding! It's wonderful!

Wait...did I read that right? "Black Bob Elementary?!"

I would love to know where that came from!

Looks like you guys had a blast!

Black Bob is the name of the indian from this area who organized and headed up the peace talks between the settlers and the regional tribes. Without knowing the history, it sounds like a really really weird name for a school. But actually, almost all of our roads and schools have either indian or explorer/pioneer names. We actually live near the crossing for the California, Santa Fe, and Oregon trails. There's tons of pioneer historical history in Olathe.
